More landscape practice in preparation for some plein air painting in Colorado. Cooler weather coming soon! Painted from a photograph from a previous trip to Estes Park.
Your colors are beautiful...love all three landscapes! I'm impressed with your limited palette. Good luck in plein air painting in Colorado and have fun!
You are right - there are so many color possibilities with just 3 tubes of paint. You have done an amazing job of discovering them. Such color harmony too. Just think, you won't have to pack so many paints! Have a wonderful time painting in Colorado.
This is another beautiful painting. I was really interested in it because I know that the picture should take your eye into its center (which yours does) but whenever I have attempted to do a scene with a river in it, I always have the river coming towards me. I have an instinctive feeling that if it is going away from me it is going up hill! (yours doesn't give me that feeling) :)
Thanks for visiting my blog featuring my most recent oil paintings. I have an art degree from Southern Methodist University and spent about 10 years marketing my paintings through museum art shows, decorators and representation at the Dallas Decorative Center. I put the paints aside for a few years to pursue other business and design interests, but most recently have returned to oil painting. If purchase information is not listed, email me personally if you are interested. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Stunning, just stunning!
