"Out To Pasture"

Spotted this old rusty tractor out in a field on the back roads of the Texas Hill Country. It might have been put out to pasture as a work horse, but it still holds lots of beauty for an artist's eye.

  1. Wow, Ann! This is absolutely a new favorite of mine. Being a closet farm girl or a farm girl wannabe, this just draws me like a magnet. I love nostalgic pieces (nostalgia in general), and too, the colors are amazing here. Truly a stunning piece to my eyes. Brava!!

  2. Beautiful work! Thanks also for your comments on my blog. I don't plan to give up plein air completely, just for a while. BTW, love the new Texas Artists Who Like to Paint blog. I am looking forward to following you guys!

  4. Did you paint this plein air and not take me with you? I've collected a few of these abandoned tractor and truck photos for future paintings, but have steered clear of them because of all of the "technical" stuff. Very, very nice work, Ann!
