Spotted this old rusty tractor out in a field on the back roads of the Texas Hill Country. It might have been put out to pasture as a work horse, but it still holds lots of beauty for an artist's eye.

Wow, Ann! This is absolutely a new favorite of mine. Being a closet farm girl or a farm girl wannabe, this just draws me like a magnet. I love nostalgic pieces (nostalgia in general), and too, the colors are amazing here. Truly a stunning piece to my eyes. Brava!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! Thanks also for your comments on my blog. I don't plan to give up plein air completely, just for a while. BTW, love the new Texas Artists Who Like to Paint blog. I am looking forward to following you guys!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful subject Ann, I love your palette in this!
ReplyDeleteDid you paint this plein air and not take me with you? I've collected a few of these abandoned tractor and truck photos for future paintings, but have steered clear of them because of all of the "technical" stuff. Very, very nice work, Ann!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is beautiful. I love old trucks, tractors - any old vehicle in a field. You did such a good job with this. The colors are perfect. Good job!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made a little time to paint with all you have had going on lately. I love the colors you used in this painting. So serene.
