"Dots and Daisies"

11 x 14
oil on hardboard

Guess I should have titled this 'dots, daisies, limes and peppers"! The gerber daisy arrangement is from a birthday party I had for my husband, and the peppers, well, they were just too delicious looking to resist.

I'm taking a workshop at the end of this month with Qiang Huang and thought I'd better work on a still life for a little practice.

  1. This is a lovely piece Ann! I really like the color palette and the dots. The dots really give a sense of the folds and the lights.
    Qiang Huang...lucky girl!

  2. Ann,
Absolutely gorgeous painting in every way. I love the colors, composition and application of paint.

  3. This is very beautiful, love the yellow on yellow!! Your workshop is sure to be special, seriously cannot wait to hear about it.

Lunch, yes! Can we wait until spring break (about 4 weeks)? I will send you an e-mail with the dates.

  4. I agree with everyone else, lovely palette! I have just bestowed upon you the Sunshine Award for creativity and positivity in blogging! Check out my blog if you would like to accept your award.

  5. Ooh, so pretty! Took me a second to find the limes, believe it or not. LOL As beautiful as those flowers are, I think my favorite part is that fun dot fabric backdrop! This just all comes together so beautifully. I love your choice of flowers too; I don't see them too often in flower paintings.
