This painting is from a photograph of a cousin's grandchildren. Found it a good exercise in monochromatic tones in the clothing, also movement in the wind.
Ann, this is lovely! On the closeup view I can really enjoy your brushwork. You really did capture the feel of the wind. These two are so endearing as they face the ocean, hands clasped, futures ahead of them and feet firmly planted in the sand. I love the teals in the water, and pink tones in the sand. Also the way you indicated the buttons on her dress with just a few marks. Great job with the many colors of white!
Thanks for visiting my blog featuring my most recent oil paintings. I have an art degree from Southern Methodist University and spent about 10 years marketing my paintings through museum art shows, decorators and representation at the Dallas Decorative Center. I put the paints aside for a few years to pursue other business and design interests, but most recently have returned to oil painting. If purchase information is not listed, email me personally if you are interested. Thanks for visiting my blog.
