Met several other artists at White Rock Lake yesterday, a perfect day for plein air painting, 77 degrees and sunny. That's Texas weather for you...in the 40's today!
Great play of bright colored boats against the muted sky and water. This might be crazy but I think the painting could work as an interesting abstract if you just used the top portion above the boats.
I so love seascapes and having that grass in the foreground is fabulous! What a lovely little lake and I would so love to be on one of those skiffs. Wouldn't it be wonderful being lulled to sleep at night with the gentle rocking motion and sound of water lapping? Sigh...
Thanks for visiting my blog featuring my most recent oil paintings. I have an art degree from Southern Methodist University and spent about 10 years marketing my paintings through museum art shows, decorators and representation at the Dallas Decorative Center. I put the paints aside for a few years to pursue other business and design interests, but most recently have returned to oil painting. If purchase information is not listed, email me personally if you are interested. Thanks for visiting my blog.

ReplyDeleteReally nice depth to the painting. So lucky to have a beautiful day to paint outdoors.
