"Near Luckenback"

9 x 12
oil on hardboard

This past week Outdoor Painters Society had a paint out in and around Fredericksburg, Texas. This was painted on my first day, just down the road from Luckenbach. On driving through the small community of Luckenbach (by small, I mean post office, general store, beer stands and lots of picnic tables), we encountered a good number of bikers preparing for a rally over the weekend, but, sorry, no sightings of Willie and Waylon!

  1. Un endroit qui me semble très paisible... Très belle capture et une harmonie de couleurs sublimes engageante... J'aime la manière dont vous avez travaillé votre eau...

  2. Oh my goodness! This is gorgeous, Ann! It brings to mind the garden of Eden. (And I'm remembering an old country song and the few words I do remember are on a loop through my head now about Luckenbach, Texas...)

  3. Very nice Ann...wish I could've been there, really surprised there was such a low turnout...would love to see more of what you did.

  4. This is lovely Ann. I started singing the song as soon as I saw your title. You have such a knack at plein air!

  6. Such a nice composition, Ann. I am glad there was some water in the creek for you to paint, or did you have to make that up? The whole painting turned out beautifully. There are usually a number of Willie and Waylon wannabees at Luckenbach.
