"Caged In"

8 x 10
oil on stretched canvas
sold

Carol Marine of The Daily Paintworks has a "chicken challenge" for this week, which gave me the chance to paint these guys that I photographed about a year ago in Monteagle, Tennessee. We stopped by a local flea market and there was everything from toys, farm equipment, typical garage sale items, locally produced honey, horses and lots of smaller animals in cages. We are going back this year and hope to be there again on market day!

  4. Wow - that must have been tricky to do - I think I'd have 'chickened' out of doing the cage. LOL. Beautiful work. x

  7. Really beautiful. I love the soft yellows and pale greens. They really make the bright colors of the roosters stand out. You did a great job on the cage, too. Difficult, but you pulled it off well.

I hope they were soon sold and their new owner took them to a new home with lots of space.
