oil on moleskin paper
The Texas Moleskin Round Up blog features some interesting paintings with varied themes. I think Jean Townsend's moleskin wins the prize for the most unusual topic for her book and that is detritus (noun, meaning rubbish, scrap, or junk) These clay pots in my backyard have been "rescued" from the trash making someone else's junk my treasure! Thanks for the challenge, Jean.
Nice work Ann...you're doing some really nice paintings...love the colors and great brushwork! I need a number to call you so we can paint out. Thanks so much for the visit and the nice comments!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting! Love the format, color palette, and brushwork.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the other comments, the color and bruswork in this are phenomenal! Those touches of lavender in the shadows are sublime.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm really taken with this one Ann - it's one I could look at for a long, long time. well done!
ReplyDeleteAnother piece that just fills a heart slot for me, Ann. The color of the background is my favorite and despite being a cool color, just lends a beautiful warmth to this piece. The almost complementary palette is exquisite and I love the composition too!
ReplyDeleteThis subject is 'just up my street' - I love it. Beautifully painted. x
