I'm real excited about this painting! Have finally seen some results in this still life in trying to achieve a looser style. I really don't know why that is so hard for some of us. Maybe it helped that I had a lot of time to "think" about this painting. Everything for this still life was set up at the end of last week, when I got a call from the painter ready to repair the ceiling in the breakfast room where I have my "studio" set up. We had had one of those "pesky little step through the ceiling accidents". So, the vegetables go back in the refrigerator until today, repairs done and it's time to paint again. Had mentally painted this for a couple of days, reminding myself to first block everything in very loosely with a large fan brush. My husband says golf is so hard and challenging because there's so much to remember and think about. Painting is just like that!
Absolutely love it. Think my all time favorite. The color harmony and looseness are terrific! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding painting, lovely in all the right places and gorgeous color harmony! A painting like this deserves a title worthy of its place of honor, sorry, but "Brass Vase" doesn't cut it here. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my, the color palette you have used for this is beyond stunning. This is absolutely, positively gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnn, I like everything you do and always have. You have indeed accomplished a looser style but still keeping true to the items themselves. This came out absolutely beautiful. The brass pot is perfection, you've made me have a yen for radishes, and I always love onions! Truly an exquisite piece here!
ReplyDeleteI really like this looser style - beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour color harmony is just exquisite. Also, great brushwork!
ReplyDeleteThis is exquisite, Ann! Your colors are so rich and alive. Stellar job on that brass and I love your squiggles on the radish roots.
ReplyDeleteKudos Miss Ann - love this painting, very expressive!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit...I have been telling people about this beautiful painting! I even sent a link to your blog.
ReplyDeleteWell thank you so much, Claire. I really appreciate your wonderful comments and support in this journey we are all on!
ReplyDeleteThis works well, you should feel good about it. It's great to be happy about a painting and feel you accomplished what you set out for. (I feel not so lucky with this lately!)
ReplyDeleteThis painting has me reeling Ann, I'm not surprised you are excited by it...everything is working in this, from the color palette to the brush work, bravo!
